Not All Plane Sailing
Norma, Aoife, Gigi and Joyce are the eccentric air hostesses aboard the new Concorde 9945 as it prepares for its first flight. Accompanied by two brash pilots and an array of eccentric passengers, the cast multirole throughout, following a timeline of bizarre and unimaginable events. With an in-flight Zumba routine, a near-crash experience and a fatal nut allergy, what could possibly go wrong?
Stripping away the niceties of cabin crew culture, we expose how youth is exploited, perfection is pursued, and women are held to impossible beauty standards. Within the confines of a chaotic 60 minute flight, we explore the dynamics within an industry built on looking good and staying quiet.
In 2017 Not All Plane Sailing was performed for the first time at The University of Kent. Later months saw it performed in festivals and theatres in the South-East, including the International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston, The Churchill Theatre, Bromley, and The Faversham Fringe Festival. The company also made their London debut and toured ‘NAPS’ internationally to FAcT Festival, Pisa, in 2018, marking their first European tour.

She Wears The Trousers
It’s 1975, and Helen is the proud leader of the Canterbury Feminist Society. For the group’s one year anniversary, Helen plans a surprise protest. However, things don’t quite go to plan. Will Helen lose her head? Will a heavily pregnant Betty give birth? And who will end up covered in glitter?
Amidst parties and protests, we explore the ‘right’ way to be a feminist. As they judge, police and undermine each other’s choices, we lay bare how women tear each other down over how to be free, while the patriarchy pulls the strings from the sidelines.
‘She Wears The Trousers’ was previewed in venues across Kent and Surrey, before a successful 10-day run at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016.
